Steve & Rita

Hello friends!  I'm sorry we were not able to join you for the 40th anniversary reunion.  From what I've heard, and seen in online photos, it was a wonderful event.  The reunion committee deserves a standing ovation and our heartfelt appreciation for a job very well done.  The picture of a stack of Rutts' rippers had my mouth watering... and my stomach growling.

On a more serious note, and as I wrote for the reunion directory, I encourage everyone to make a commitment to organ and tissue donorship.  Every day a couple dozen people on organ transplant waiting lists die.  At the same time, thousands of people pass away taking with them viable organs that could save lives and significantly enhance others' quality of life.  Heaven knows their organs are not needed there.

The websites linked from this page have information to help you make an informed decision for yourself and join the too slowly, but increasing numbers of people committed to organ donorship.  There is no more precious gift one human being can give another than the gift of life.

I wish your a happy, healthy New Year.

Steve

Rachel's Place has been maintained since her life-saving February 2001 bilateral lung transplant so people can continue to follow her miracle.  It is also a place linking visitors to information that can help them make an informed decision regarding organ donorship.
